Most of us starts our day with newspaper in our hand and cup of tea on our table. We starts with front page Headlines, move on to our likely sections such as Sports, Business, etc. We don't care what's in there, just go through the bold lines and that's it we are updated. But somewhere we lack, somewhere in those pages is the article that demands to be read. Yes, you guessed it right. Almost each day some page of our daily newspaper is inked with word "Rape", "Molestation","Sexually assaulted","Harassment". Why can't be there a day, a golden day, when there is no such words imprinted on our daily news. I guess even I don't have an answer.
"93 women are being raped in India every day, NCRB data show". Though the data is one year obsoleted but yet it demands attention. We can't leave it as "Man, Its Obsolete". India stands at number 4 in the world amongst the top ten countries reporting rapes frequently.
We should remember that the mouth with which we show and utter respect to our Mother, sister, wife is the same mouth with which one blows whistle at bus-stop, does hooting on bikes while chasing girls on road.
Criminals often says and give their statements "Saahab, Maine daaru bahut p liya tha. Mujhko samjh nahi aaya kaise kya hogaya" ("Sir, I was heavily drunk, I didn't have an idea what happened.") What a lame. I want to ask a question here to those criminals, "Did you ever touched your mother's belly after getting drunk? Did you ever checked-out your sister from tip to toe after getting high?". No? If you can't do these stuffs after getting high then why other girls on the road or at public places? Aren't those girls human? They also have the same RBCs, WBCs, and all other biological stuff which your sister, wife and mother have.
Recently I was whole day out with one of my colleague. We enjoyed each-other's company. Visited a lot places. Day was going fine until I encountered an incident. She went to hire an auto for her home. I was along with her. The moment she reached near an auto 3-4 auto drivers caught themselves in a race, "Arey Madam chalo chalo, Main le chalta hu"(Ma'am, I'll take you along). They even have not asked her where she wanna go, what's her drop point. Drivers were just shouting in their own way, I was looking at them and whole lot of Math was going in my mind. Just give it a thought from a girl's point of view, Drivers shouting to take you along and mean while sharing that weird grin amongst themselves. It's not normal.
For males its good to maintain a distance so as the girl by your side doesn't imagine you amongst those whom she usually encounters at the Bus stops, road street market, shopping complex, movie theater, etc who eve tease her. If a girl says the following then (Shown in image on the left) admit it you are crossing that line under which she thought you were a friend and the moment you cross it you become another guy in the list. Respect their words. Admit it they want more of your healthy company than your sexual attention.
We live in a democratic country. In-fact world's largest democratic country. I shouldn't be biased. According to Satyamev Jayate Episode on Child Sexual Abuse, 53% of Sexual Harassment Victims are boys(Please drag the video bar to 19 minutes 6 seconds). Somewhere or the other men and women are equally found victim of this social evil.
I've recently came across a news over the internet which says-
16-year-old boy raped by woman in Mumbai. In the section I read a myth if a rape is happened to a man or a boy, he should've considered it as lucky. Why on earth it should be lucky for a guy. We, humans, are not a piece of meat. If a girl find rape a crime, boy find it too. You are forcefully made to get intimate.
